400 Kg Ganja Seized, Two Arrested

VISAKHAPATNAM: The rural police arrested a two-member inter-state gang and recovered around 400 kg of ganja worth Rs 12 lakh from them on the outskirts of Kimudupalli panchayat near Aradagudem village in Pedabayalu mandal of Vizag agency Friday morning.

The arrested were identified as 58-year-old Bhamshankar Roy and 52-year-old Viswanadh Roy, both from Bihar state. Apart from the ganja, the cops also seized Rs 53,570 in cash, two mobile phones and a four-wheeler.

According to Pedabayalu SI T Malleswara Rao, acting on a tip-off, the police went to the spot and found two people shifting the ganja in four gunny bags. They arrested the duo. The accused collected the ganja from the interior areas of Visakhapatnam agency, from where they were supposed to transport it to Bihar through Vizag.
