VIJAYAWADA: A rare knee joint replacement was performed on HT Muralidhar Rao (75) using latest iASSIST technology by the doctors of the Joint Care Center in the city.
“Without one degree angulation, the joint replacement will be done easily through this technology and there is no need to insert rod like in jig method. In the iASSIAT technology, a software will be used to do the operation,” said joint replacement and arthroscopic surgeon Dr Kiran Reddy, who performed the surgery at a press conference here Saturday.
