Awards for Increase in Groundwater Levels

VIJAYAWADA: Collector Babu A has directed the officials of various departments to work as a team for having the groundwater levels recharged in the district.

Addressing a video conference with officials here Monday, he said the first three mandals and three villages, which register an increase in groundwater levels due to efforts under the Neeru-Chettu programme will be given awards. He also stressed the need for utilising Comprehensive Financial Management System, being implemented as pilot project in the district, for maintaining service and other records of employees.

Later in another video conference with special officers and officials from mandals and villages, he expressed his dissatisfaction over the lacklustre implementation of Indradanush Immunisation Programme, held for seven days in April second week.

The collector took the officials at the government hospital in Avanigadda to task for negligence in following the orders and correcting the lapses pointed out.
