RTC Staff Warn of Strike from May 6

Road Transport Corporation buses will go off the road in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh after May 6 if the salaries of the corporation’s employees are not increased.

HYDERABAD: Road Transport Corporation buses will go off the road in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh after May 6 if the salaries of the corporation’s employees are not increased on par with government employees, RTC employee unions have warned the management.

General secretaries of APSRTC Employees’ Union and RTC Telangana Mazdoor Union K Padmakar and E Ashwathama Reddy stated that about 1.2 lakh employees of the Corporation should be paid 43 per cent fitment.

The talks of the union with Y Surya Prasad, Andhra Pradesh additional labour commissioner on the issue failed on Wednesday. The general secretaries requested chief ministers of Telangana and AP to announce 43 per cent fitment.
