SRIKAKULAM:The police have recovered a body from a five-foot deep drain at Akkupalli village in Vajrapukothuru mandal of the district. Later, the police identified the deceased as L Krishna Rao (42), of the same village.
According to the police, Krishna Rao, along with his wife and son, went to his brother-in-law’s house for a function in the same village Thursday. After having lunch, Krishna Rao sent his wife and son back and told them that he would come home late.
Krishna Rao and his friends had liquor till late in the evening. As Krishna Rao did not returned home, his relatives and friends searched to trace him till the wee hours of Friday.
On Friday morning some of the locals found a body in the drainage and informed the police. After recovering the body, the police sent it for postmortem. A suspicious case of death was registered. Investigation is on.
