Woman Hurt in Car Mishap

VIJAYAWADA: A 55-year-old woman suffered critical injuries when she was hit by a car driven by a woman at Bhavanipuram here on Saturday.

According to Bhavanipuram CI I Gopala Krishna, the mishap took place when Koppula Vijaya Bharathi(50) was driving her car after performing ‘puja’ at a temple near Panchayat Office.

The accident took place after Vijaya Bharathi had a quarrel with a two-wheeler for blocking her car. Then she reversed the car in a fit of rage and hit a pedestrian. The woman fell and suffered critical injuries. The victim was identified as Pogula Lalithamba (55). She was admitted to Gollapudi Andhra Hospital. Doctors said that her legs were fractured and she suffered a serious head injury.

Police registered a case and investigation is on.
