VIJAYAWADA: A 17-year-old girl and her mother died in a tragic road accident at Kummaripalem Centre here on Sunday.
According to Bhavanipuram CI I Gopala Krishna, the mishap took place when Tulluri Likitha Sri (17) and her mother wife Tulluri Sridevi (42) were going to bus station on a two-wheeler while the girl’s father T Panduranga Kishore Kumar and brother were following on another bike.
While Likitha was trying to overtake a truck, her bag got struck in the autorickshaw, passing the same way. She lost control of the vehicle and it fell sideways. Likitha’s mother, who was riding pillion, fell under the rear wheels of the truck and got crushed to death. Likitha, who also came under wheels of the truck, was grievously injured and died on way to hospital. A case has been registered.
