VISAKHAPATNAM:The district claimed the third position in the state in second year Intermediate results, which were released here Tuesday. Last year, the district secured second place.
The district registered an overall pass percentage of 76. Like every year, girls outshone boys in pass percentage (77 and 75 respectively). As many as 41,088 students - 21,121 boys and 19,967 girls - attended the examination of which 31,174 have passed.
The pass percentage in vocational courses was 70, with 2,153 out of 3,071 students having passed. “There were several hurdles like Hudhud that disturbed the students’ schedule and hence, the district slipped in the ranking,” said an official.
