VIZIANAGARAM:In a tragic incident, a homemaker committed suicide by consuming excess sleeping pills allegedly due to depression at her residence in Vizianagaram Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Krishna Priya, daughter of renowned doctors who run a private hospital at Jidduvari veedhi of the town.
According to II Town SI V Sriramulu, Krishna Priya was suffering from psychological problems as she could not achieve anything in life among other reasons. She was very depressed after she failed in one of her exams while pursuing MBBS in 2009 after which her parents had her discontinue her studies and asked her to help with their hospital.
She was also treated by various psychologists in Hyderabad and a few other cities. Her parents, having explained their daughter’s situation, married her off to a doctor, a native of Tirupati, in Feb 2014.
However, since last five to six weeks, Krishna Priya was yet again experiencing bouts of depression and was being treated at home by her parents. Priya’s husband left for Tirupati and she continued to stay with her parents. On Wednesday night, Priya’s mother retired to her room after ensuring that Priya is asleep. However Thursday morning at around 8 am, when she came to Priya’s room she found her dead. Priya’s parents have been in an inconsolable state ever since their daughter resorted to such an extreme step.
A case has been registered and investigation is on.
