SRIKAKULAM:A quarry worker in a fit of rage knifed his wife several times to death late Friday night at Krishnapuram in Pondur mandal of the district over alleged family disputes. The accused is absconding after the incident. Reportedly, victim M Tavudamma often had quarrels with her husband M Ramu who used to return home drunk.
Police said that, “the accused in an inebriated condition, picked an argument with Tavudamma which led to the incident.” The villagers alleged that Ramu in a drunken state frequently quarrelled with his wife and even neighbours. Allegedly, Ramu’s elder brother Rajarao and wife Lakshmi aided Ramu in killing Tavudamma. On a complaint from the victim’s father S.Appalanaidu, the police have started investigation.
