Attack on Woman Officer: Strike to be Called Off

Following the assurances of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to probe the attack, the Revenue Services Association has decided to call off its proposed strike from Monday.

HYDERABAD: Following the assurances of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to probe the attack on Krishna district Mandal Revenue Officer(MRO) D Vanajakshi by the supporters of Denduluru TDP MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, the Revenue Services Association has decided to call off its proposed strike from Monday.

The AP Revenue Services Association(APRSA) members led by president B Venkateswarlu called on the Chief Minister at his residence on Saturday morning and briefed him about the incident. They complained that Vanajakshi was attacked by supporters of Chintamaneni Prabhakar when she went to inspect sand reaches from where sand was allegedly being diverted.

They demanded stringent action against the TDP MLA and his supporters involved in the incident. Naidu, who returned from his three-day tour of Japan, took serious note of the incident and assured the employees  that an inquiry by a senior IAS officer into the incident would be ordered soon.

According to sources, Chintamaneni Prabhakar too is said to have called on  Naidu to explain his side of the controversy. It is learnt that Naidu pulled up the TDP MLA and warned him of serious action if repeated such things in future.
