Dharna for Jobs in TTD
TIRUPATI: Navyandhra Vidyardhi JAC and Andhra Pradesh Abhivruddhi Porata Samithi(AAPS) held a dharna jointly at TTD administrative building demanding filling of vacant posts in the TTD.
Speaking on the occasion, AAPS state president N Raja Reddy said the TTD has 8,000 vacant posts. After the new TTD Trust Board was constituted, the authorities have announced that the vacant posts will be filled immediately. But, even after three months, there was no notification, he said.
Students of various colleges and unemployed youth took part in the dharna in large numbers.
As the agitators tried to forcibly enter the TTD administrative building, police and vigilance staff stopped them outside. Later, some members of AAPS and JAC were permitted to drop the memorandum in the hundi in the portico of the building.
