Shiv Sena for Priests' Salaries Through Treasury

KURNOOL: Shiv Sena district president T Pratap Reddy wanted the state government to pay monthly salaries of temple priests and staff through the treasury instead of endowment department.

The Shiv Sena district committee held a roundtable meeting along with Archaka Samakya and Brahmana Seva Samithi at the Press Club here on Saturday.

Pratap Reddy demanded that the government develop all temples in the state and also focus on the welfare of temple staff and priests.

He wanted to immediate sanction the pending bills under Dhupa Deepa Naivedyam scheme, which are pending since January, 2015. The Sena leader also demanded a rise in priest's salary from `5000 to `10,000.

The meeting discussed various problems and decided to hold "Archaka Avedana" dharna on July 29to press their demands.

Shiv Sena district convener P Laxminarayana Sharma, Archaka Samakya district president Narsimhaiah, Brahmana Seva Samiti district president Manohar Rao and others were present.
