KALESHWARAM:It seems the pilgrims in Andhra Pradesh are preferring the pushkaram ghats in Telangana following the tragic incident of stampede that claimed the lives of 27 pilgrims at Rajahmundry. Hundreds of pilgrims from AP have arrived at Kaleshwaram, one of the prime pushkaram ghats in Karimnagar district, on Thursday. It is said that 35 per cent of the total pilgrims are from AP. On Thursday, there was a huge rush of pilgrims to perform ‘Pindapradanam’ rituals as the day was special as the ‘Amavasya’ day coincided with ‘Adhika Ashadam’, an auspicious occasion. Nearly one lakh pilgrims thronged the ghats on Kaleshwaram, which is known as Triveni Sangamam, as it is the confluence point for three rivers - Godavari, Pranahita and Sarasawati, on Thursday.
