VISAKHAPATNAM: Waltair Divisional Railway Manager Chandralekha Mukherjee visited the Visakhapatnam Railway Station Thursday to oversee passenger flow due to the ongoing Godavari Pushkarams.

She checked all the platforms at random, interacted with the passengers at the station and in trains, inquired about passenger satisfaction over the arrangements, especially the standard of cleanliness in the mass contact area during peak hours.

The DRM reviewed the pattern and advised the station manager to order the sanitary staff at the deployed places to empty dustbins frequently and clean the platforms.

Chandralekha also advised the officer on duty at Visakhapatnam Station for ensuring frequent public announcements to observe the standard of cleanliness. The DRM’s inspection focussed on the free circulation of passenger platforms for quick dispersal of passengers and hassle-free boarding.

Additional DRM Madanlal Meena, senior divisional commercial manager M Yelvender Yadav, senior divisional engineer Ch Vishnu Murthy and several other officials were present.
