9th Pushkaram for 115-yr-old Woman

RAJAHMUNDRY:Aravapalli Sitamma from Angara village of Kapileswaram mandal of East godavari district achieved a rare feat on Sunday when she had a holy Pushkaram dip in the Godavari for the ninth consecutive time at the age of 115. District officials felicitated her at the ghat for the rare honour.

The ghats in Rajahmundry city being much crowded, family members of A Sitamma brought her in a wheelchair and helped her to take the holy dip at Ravulapalem ghat, which was less crowded. She came along with 15 members of her family, who included grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sitamma’s family members expressed their happiness on her taking part in the Pushkarams for the ninth time.
