Take Steps to Conserve Forest, Collector Told

VIJAYAWADA: Principal Secretary (Forest) AK Parida has asked the district collector Babu A to initiate measures for conservation of the forest in the district. Holding a review meeting on the forest lands in the district here Monday, Parida said in CRDA limits itself there are 34,103 hectares of lands in 33 blocks, of which 8,354 hectares were under encroachment by 12,853 people. The collector informed the secretary that a joint survey is being conducted to determine the exact extent of forest land and how much is under encroachment.
