AUCE Vice Principal New CSI Chairman

VISAKHAPATNAM : Rich tributes were paid to former president of India, APJ Abdul Klam at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Computer Society of India (CSI) held here on Thursday. The AGM governing body observed two-minute silence as mark of respect to Abdul Kalam.

On the occasion, Andhra University College of Engineering vice-principal PS Avadhani took over as the new chairman of CSI Visakhapatnam chapter for 2015-2016 from PC Mohapatra. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) director (Operations) DN Rao was unanimously elected the vice-chairman.

Earlier, VSP director (Projects) and Vizag chapter ex-chairman PC Mohapatra lauded the efforts of the organisation in promoting IT and congratulated it for emerging as the best chapter in the country. He requested the organisation members to organise more programmes in rural areas like installing Smart Computer Lab at a school in Kasimkota.

Secretary Y Madhusudana Rao thanked the unstinting support given by the members of the CSI chapter for conducting glorious events and highlighted the activities conducted during the year like NCITIT-2K15, Whiz Kid-2K15, Smart Computer Lab for a rural school and technical talks etc.
