KADAPA: Police have seized `35 lakh worth brown sugar and arrested four persons including a police constable.
Addressing mediapersons in Pulivendula on Sunday, Pulivendula ASP Anburajan said that acting on a tip-off, police seized the narcotic from a car on Kadapa ring road.
After seizing one-and-a-half-kg brown sugar along with the car, police arrested four accused including a police constable Ram Kumar, working with the Vallur police station.
The three other accused were Siva, Sivaiah and Musthafa, residents of Badwel town.
Though the involvement of a police constable behind brown sugar transportation came as a bolt to the police department, the ASP maintained that they will not spare those taking part in such anti-social activities.
