2 Men End Life in Separate Incidents

SRIKAKULAM: Two people committed suicide in two separate incidents in the district Wednesday. The deceased were identified as M Govinda Rao (32) of Vandrangi village in C Jagadam mandal and P Raju (32) of Konda Kameswarapeta village in Jalumuru mandal of the district.

According to the police, Govinda Rao was suffering with kidney problems for several years. Vexed with his life, he consumed poison near a temple in Vadrangi village Wednesday afternoon. The locals, who found him in an unconscious state, rushed Govinda Rao to the local hospital where the doctors told them to shift him to RIMS in Srikakulam town. However, he died while undergoing treatment at RIMS in the wee hours of Thursday. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a six-month-old baby boy. C Jagadam police registered a case.

In another case, P Raju had an altercation with his mother Wednesday, after which he sent his wife and son to his relative’s house in Konda Kameswarapeta. Later, he committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in the mango farms at Budithi village in Saravakota mandal. The locals noticed the body Thursday morning and alerted the police, who shifted the body to the hospital for post-mortem. Saravakota police registered a case and are investigating.
