Singareni to Blend Its Coal with Exotic Coal

HYDERABAD:  With an aim to harness the increasing demand for coal in the country, the Singareni Collieries has decided to blend its coal with high calorific value coal imported from abroad to provide its customers quality output.

Singareni Collieries Company Limited chairman and managing director N Sridhar held discussions on the matter with Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation Limited (MMTC) in-charge chairman Ved Prakash here on Thursday.

Due to low quality of the coal, a part of the total produce is left unutilised at Singareni collieries. To check this anomaly and increase the revenue for the company, it was decided to blend the Singareni coal with imported coal of high calorific value, a press release said here on Thursday.

With MMTC having expertise in supplying coal to  institutes like Coal India, Singareni Collieries, which is planning to import coal, sought the former’s support for the same.
