Nurse Murdered by Unknown Persons

ONGOLE:Kalangi Subhadra, a 40-year-old nurse working in the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at KS Palle village of Giddalur mandal in Prakasam district, was murdered by some unidentified miscreants late on Monday night.

Subhadra, a widow, was living along with her son at Turimella village of Kambham mandal, while her other two children were pursuing education staying at hostels in Tirupati and Kurnool.

According to police, on Monday night, Subhadra’s son went to their neighbour’s house to study along with other children. When he and other children heard cries for help, they rushed to his house, only to find Subhadra lying in a pool of blood with her throat slit. On being alerted, police rushed to the scene of crime with dog squads and forensic teams. 

During their search for the accused, police found an abandoned motorcycle, suspected to have been used by the accused in the case, at Palgutapalli village of Racharla mandal. 

Markapuram CI Karunakar said that the victim had some property dispute with close relatives and added they they suspected that as the motive for the homicide. ‘’A case has been registered and investigation is on,’’ he added. Meanwhile, some people, who are suspected to be relatives of the victim, underwent treatment at a private hospital in Giddalur, while on their way to Nandyal in Kurnool district.
