Six Arrested for Robbery, Burglary

VIJAYAWADA:The city police arrested six people on Wednesday at Padavala Revu Centre of Ramalingeswara Nagar and KR Market in the city on charges of robbery and burglary.

According to the police, following a tip-off, they arrested four people - B Mithilesh (24), D Ravi Kumar (25), E Santhosh Naga Durga Rao (23), and A Ramesh (25) - for waylaying and robbing people.

Mithilesh used to work as compounder at Dr Abhishek’s dental clinic, but after the closure of the clinic owing to losses, he and his friend Ravi Kumar robbed a hotel owner Gowri Shankar at Benz Circle recently. On Wednesday, they met at Padavala Revu to plan another robbery, when the police caught them.

Based on another tip-off, police took Y Lokesh (27) and P Umanagu (24) on charges of burgling a house under Two Town limits on March 2 and 10.  Lokesh was wanted in robbery case two years ago.

Since then he along with his friend Umanagu shifted his base to Bangalore and returned back in December.

A laptop and five cell phones along with 35 gram of gold were recovered from them.
