Arrangements in Place for Council Poll

VIJAYAWADA: Elaborate arrangements are in place for the smooth conduct of MLC (Krishna-Guntur Teachers’ constituency) elections scheduled to be held on March 22.

In Krishna district alone, a total of 9,762 teachers will cast their vote in the election, where ballot papers will be used. The polling will be held from 8 am to 4 pm and in case voters are seen waiting in the queue after the end of polling, they will be allowed to cast their vote.

In all, there are 51 polling centres in the district and elaborate security arrangements are being made to make it a smooth affair. Each voter will be provided with a special marker pen to use to make their choice on the ballot paper. The entire election will be webcast.

Meanwhile, political parties supporting different candidates in the fray have intensified their campaigning. Those who came from outside to campaign for the candidates, have to leave the teachers’ constituency by March 20.
