Engg Student Jumps into well

VISAKHAPATNAM : In a tragic incident, a B.Tech second year student allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a dilapidated well near the Old Dairy Farm area here Sunday. He has been identified as T Naga Satya Prasad (20), a resident of the same area and student of MVGR College of Engineering.

According to Arilova zone police, Satya Prasad left home Saturday morning. As he did not return home even in the night, his father Vijaya Shankar approached the Arilova police and filed a missing case. On Sunday morning, some locals found a body floating in the well and alerted the police who rushed to the spot along with swimmers who retrieved the body and identified it as that of Prasad.

Police said that Prasad has resorted to the extreme step due to the embarassment he was facing over his uneven teeth. He often felt ashamed and suffered from an inferiority complex. The student had attempted suicide in the past also.

The police sent the body for postmortem and registered a suicide case.
