Burglars Decamp with Rs 3.5 Lakh

VISAKHAPATNAM : In yet another jolt to the police, burglars decamped with `3.5 lakh from an apartment at Bheemili Crossroads on the city outskirts in the wee hours of Monday. The incident came to light when the apartment tenant found the cupboard broke open and money missing from it in the morning. The tenant later approached the Anandapuram police station.

According to Anandapuram circle inspector A Parthasarathy, the theft took place in the office of the Satya Krishna Apartments near the Bheemili Crossroads. The office belongs to N Satyanarayana, the site incharge of the apartments. Police suspect that the burglary might have taken place between 2 am and 5 am Monday. Satyanarayana was not in the apartment Sunday night. The police registered a theft case and are investigating.
