DCIL Hands Over Toilets to 2 Schools

VISAKHAPATNAM : As a part of corporate social responsibility programme, the Dredging Corporation of India Limited has undertaken construction of toilets for six government schools at Thotagaruvu, Vepagunta, Sabbavaram, Bheemili, Vadapalem and Majjivalasa. The total cost of the project is about `42 lakh for a total of 30 units. The cost includes provision of bore-well for water supply for a school and electricity connection to another.

The construction of the toilets was started in December last year, and the company handed over the toilet complexes at Zilla Parishad High School, Vadapalem, and Government High School at Bheemili Monday.

DCIL chairman and managing director Rajesh Tripathi stated that the  company had taken up the prestigious project under Swachh Vidyalaya Programme, started by the Centre, with an intention to provide toilets to government schools with proper running water supply, ventilation and privacy, on par with facilities in corporate schools.
