3,000 Vie for Honours at Nirulotsav

VIJAYAWADA: A two-day national-level techno-cultural and sports  fest ‘Nirulotsav-2k15’ was inaugurated on Thursday at Vignan’s Nirula Institute of Technology & Science for Women.

Students from various colleges from Guntur and Krishna districts enrolled themselves for around 30 different events. Principal P.Radhika announced that almost 3,000 contestants are competing for cash prizes of around `5 lakh which will be handed over to the winners at the valedictory function on March 27.

The inaugural event began with the performance of formation of a pyramid by Vignan’s  Nirula students. E.Srinivas Chakravarthy, an alumni of Vignan, who is now centre head, TCS, Bangalore, acted as the guest of honour.
