VIJAYAWADA: Anganwadi teacher at Gudem Madhavaram in Veerullapadu mandal in Krishna district K Renuka Devi has been placed under suspension.

Krishna district joint collector Gandham Chandrudu, who was angry with her for not taking proper care of the children, in his surprise inspection Thursday, issued orders for her suspension.

The joint collector was upset when he tested simple arithmetic skills of the students by asking them to count the number of fingers he had shown to them and asking them to identify animals by showing models to them.

With none of the students being able to give satisfactory reply, the joint collector suspended the teacher on the spot.

He visited the village to supervise the ongoing works related to conversion of the village into a smart one.
