CRDA Tech Team for Singapore Tomorrow

HYDERABAD: A technical team of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) will be visiting Singapore from May 4 to 6 to have talks regarding the Kondaveeti Vaagu floods issue with the engineers involved in the capital master plan preparation.

The visit was originally planned from April 28 but had to be postponed due to unavoidable circumstances, a State government communication said.

The CRDA authorities fear that frequent inundation due to overflowing of local streams, Kondaveeti Vaagu being one among them, would pose a big problem for the new capital city at Tullur in Gutur district.

Apart from this, as the State government is planning to develop Kondaveeti Vaagu on the lines of Hussainsagar lake in Hyderabad and use the very source of the stream for the purpose of supplying water to the new capital and also to attract tourists, the APCRDA’s technical team will discuss these issues with the developers of the capital city’s master plan.
