VISAKHAPATNAM: Excessive use of mobile phones would adversely affect the health of people, for cell phones emit electromagnetic waves, which are hazardous, Andhra University vice-chancellor GSN Raju has said.
He was addressing a seminar on ‘Facts about Microwave Ovens and Cell Phones’ here Wednesday. He explained the specifications, basic functions and features of microwave ovens, precautions to be taken and frequency and ill-effects of mobile phones. Professors Sriramulu, Prasada Reddy, NAD Paul and Challa Ramakrishna participated.
