TIRUMALA:Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju on Saturday started issuing Arjitha Seva tickets through draw of lots, at the Vijaya Bank counter at the CRO. The tickets were diverted from the current booking quota, for the benefit of pilgrims.
Addressing mediapersons, the JEO said the Arjitha Seva tickets are issued to pilgrims through Vijaya Bank counters on first come, first served basis. As a result, pilgrims used to stand in long queues for hours and sometimes the entire night to get the tickets. To put an end to this inconvenience, the TTD has decided to convert the current booking tickets into lucky dip quota and commenced the new system on Saturday.
“Now the pilgrims have to register their names for tickets from morning 11 am to 5 am and they will be allotted Arjitha Seva tickets through a draw of lots. Those who got the tickets will be sent SMSes and the same will be displayed on big screens at ATC and CRO,” he added. The JEO said the new system is applicable to only Suprabhatam and weekly sevas subject to availability.
