Land Dispute Leaves One Dead and 2 Hurt

VISAKHAPATNAM: One person died and two others were severely injured in a fight over a land dispute in Gundupala village of Goluginda mandal of Visakhapatnam agency Monday. The deceased has been identified as S Ramu (35), while the injured are E Pothamma and E Varaha Raju. Police have arrested three individuals namely E Rama Krishna, E Chinnaya, E Maridayya who hail from the same family and have reportedly attacked Ramu and others with swords.

According to SI N Joga Rao, the family has been quarrelling over a piece of land for 20 years despite having divided it equally amongst themselves. On Monday evening, Rama Krishna, Maridayya and Chinnaya attacked Ramu and the others with swords and fled from the spot after being noticed by the locals. Ramu died on the spot, while Pothamma and Raju were shifted to hospital and are reported to be in a serious condition.

SI N Joga Rao said that though the accused have been nabbed, the complete details are yet to be ascertained. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
