RAJAHMUNDRY:The Zilla Praja Parishad (ZPP) has devised an action plan to take up various development works in East Godavari district with funds worth Rs 200 crore granted by the 13th Finance Commission funds. As part of it, cement concrete roads will be laid and drains will be repaired. The district has already received Rs 99 crore from the total funds.
In the wake of the forthcoming Godavari Pushkarams, roads will be repaired with an estimated cost of Rs 8.42 crore in the first phase and 12 other works with an amount of Rs 35 crore will be taken up in the second phase.
According to ZPP chairman Namana Rambabu, the guest houses in Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Tuni and Amalapuram will also be developed with Rs 1 crore.
All the funds will be spent in a phased manner on various development works, he added.
