VISAKHAPATNAM:The G Madugula Police arrested four persons Sunday evening in connection with the brutal murder of a tribal, Pothuraju, whose torso was recovered by police on May 10. The arrested were identified as V Appala Naidu, G Papa Rao, K Someswara Rao and B Bangaru Padal, residents of the same village.
According to sources, Pothuraju’s brother Potti Naidu died a few months ago, following which his wife allegedly developed an illicit relationship with Appala Naidu. Knowing about the affair, Pothuraju warned Appala Naidu, which allegedly led to a discord.
Appala Naidu who reportedly nursed a grudge due to the same, attacked Pothuraju on May 10 along with his friends Papa Rao, Someswara Rao, Bangaru Padal. The accused waited for Pothuraju, who was drunk that night, and beheaded him. In an attempt to mislead the police and make the ghastly act appear to be the work of thieves, the accused threw the severed head far away. However, the police, acting on a tip-off, nabbed the accused at Lothugedda area of the agency Sunday evening.
