VIJAYAWADA: As Krishna district is experiencing sweltering days, people should take precautionary measures to minimise the effect of rising temperatures, said Joint collector Gandham Chandrudu.
According to a press release here on Friday, he said that people should protect themselves from Sun with umbrellas and sunglasses and avoid dehydration and drink a lot of water.
“Drink adequate fluids and consume a lot of fruits. If you are travelling for long distances, take time to relax in shade. Weakness and fever are the symptoms of sunstroke,” said DMHO R Naga Malleswari.
People affected with heatstroke should be shifted to a cool place, made to lie down and given electrolytes and after first-aid. Then they should be moved to hospital. “Avoid fast food during summer to prevent diarrhoea. Tender coconut water, fresh lime juice and buttermilk need to be taken,” she said.
