VIJAYAWADA: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly attempted to murder his wife, who was undergoing treatment in Old Government General Hospital here on Sunday.
According to sources, K Rani (22) and her husband K Ramesh (30) were residents of Machavaram. A domestic quarrel arose between them in the past few days and unable to bear the torture, she attempted suicide by immolating self at her parents’ place in Pochampadu village in G Konduru mandal. She sustained 70 per cent burns and was admitted to old government general hospital four days ago. On Sunday, when Ramesh visited her in the hospital, again they started fighting and he allegedly tried to strangle her. When she started shouting, he escaped from the hospital. Rani’s relatives lodged a complaint against Ramesh with the police. However no case has been registered yet.
