Govt Official Arrested In Bribe Case

VIZIANAGARAM: The Anti corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths have arrested the sub-registrar of Bhogapuram DV Narayana, in Vizianagaram district in his office Friday morning. Apart from the sub-registrar, four more document writers have also been arrested for alleged involvement in accepting bribes from public for office works.

On a tip-off that the officals were demanding bribes for all office works, the ACB team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP Ch Lakshmipathi, raided the office and arrested sub-registrar Narayana and four other document writers namely Bhadri, Mohan, Prasad and Kanakaraju. All of them reportedly were involved in irregular activities and hence have been arrested and sent to the ACB court at Visakhapatnam. Sources said that the ACB sleuths have seized Rs 1.10 Lakh cash from them.

The DSP urged public to come forward and report such cases to the police. Inspectors Lakshmoji and D Ramesh were a part of the team which raided the office.
