Hyd Burglars Held in City

VISAKHAPATNAM: The city police arrested three-member gang of Hyderabad on the charges of house breaking here Wednesday. The arrested have been identified as J Sai Kumar (19), M Naveen Kumar (19) and B Srinu (20), all residents of LB Nagar.

Addressing the media, ADCP (Crimes) S Varada Raju said that in their routine inspections in city lodges, they found the three youngsters under suspicious circumstances at a lodge under Maharanipeta police station limits. Upon checking them, the police found Rs 1.4 lakh along with gold and silver ornaments without any valid records.

The ADCP said that the trio burgled a house at Meerpet in Hyderabad on August 26 and fled with valuables worth Rs 6.5 lakh. Police recovered 16 tola gold, silver articles, Rs 1.4 lakh cash and three mobile phones that the trio had reportedly purchased using the stolen cash.

“The culprits, after committing the crime, fled the spot and reached Visakhapatnam for holidaying. Over 90 percent of loot has been recovered,” Varada Raju said.

According to reports, all the three accused are either school or college dropouts, while, Sai Kumar is an ex-offender involved in petty cases. Cases have been booked and the arrested have been sent to remand.
