VIJAYAWADA: A 25-year-old housemaid was arrested on Friday for stealing a gold chain weighing 96 grams from the house of one B Nageswara Rao in Gudela Ramulu street of Chittinagar in the city.
The theft happened on August 28 and based on a complaint from the owners, police were on the lookout for accused. They found one K Gayatri moving in a suspicious manner at Jaihind Complex in Governorpet on Friday. On being questioned, she admitted to the theft and turned over the stolen property to the police.
