City Trio in World Skating Tourney

VISAKHAPATNAM : Three youngsters from Visakhapatnam who have maintained an excellent track record in the national skating championship are now heading to the Junior World Roller Skating Championship 2015, which is going to be held from September 17 to Sep 25, at Cali, Colombia in South America. A team of eight skaters will represent team India, out of which four belong to Andhra Pradesh including three from Vizag itself. The fourth candidate is from Vijayawada, while the team also has one player from Telangana State.

Class X student Rokhaiyya Farheen Shaik, Class XI student Rayudu Arun Kumar and Class XII student Boppana Nishank are gearing up for the Junior World Roller Skating Championship-2015.

Free style and pair skater Rayudu Arun Kumar has won several titles which also includes his recent feat of standing fourth in the 16th Asian Championship 2014, held in China where he was paired with Rokhaiyya Farheen Shaik. Moreover he also holds the record of winning Nationals eight times. Boppana Nishank, a figure skater is a nine-time national gold winner.

The trio expressed their happiness and excitement on being part of the upcoming world championship. As many as eight members have been selected for the championship from India.
