'Littering Train a Punishable Offence'

VISAKHAPATNAM : Divisional Rail Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) meeting of Waltair Division was held Thursday to discuss passenger amenities. DRM and chairman of DRUCC, Chandralekha Mukherjee chaired the meeting.

Senior divisional commercial manager and secretary, DRUCC, M Yelvender Yadav briefed about the various development activities being carried out at Waltair Division including commissioning of additional unreserved ticket issuing system at different stations, computerised  booking of retiring rooms and dormitories and developmental activities towards Gnanapuram side among others.

The members of DRUCC raised various issues including coach indication boards, improvement of passenger announcement system, stoppage of Prasanti express at Simhachalam, Coramandal express stoppage at Vizianagaram, reducing the journey timings of Durg express.

The DRM appealed to all the members to create awareness among the passengers to avoid using toilets while the train is at halt and to use dustbins for disposal of waste. The DRM also said that littering was a punishable offence.
