Deadline Set for Toilet Construction

GUNTUR:Managing director of Swachh Andhra Muralidhar Reddy and Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) commissioner C Anuradha asked the contractors to complete the construction of toilets by October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, in Guntur city.

After convening a special meeting with contractors here Sunday, the officers said that the Central government had embarked on the prestigious project to eliminate the menace of open defection which is a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year.

“With Guntur being a neighbour of the new capital Amaravati, we all should put our efforts in keeping the city clean and hygienic,” they asserted.
