VISAKHAPATNAM : Trina Solar Limited, a Chinese company, and India-based Welspun Group will jointly set up a mega unit to manufacture solar power spare parts at the Special Economic Zone, Atchutapuram, with an investment of `3,000 crore.
A delegation of officials from Trina Solar, led by Hunter Wu and Sam Liu and Welspun chief executive officer Gowtham Kapoor held discussions here with collector N Yuvaraj Monday to expedite the project.
The collector assured the delegates that suitable land for the unit would be finalised in the SEZ at the earliest. He also promised all the necessary help for setting up the company in the district.
Hunter Wu and Gowtham Kapoor informed the collector that they were ready to kickstart the works in a month once the land was allocated. Welspun representatives Col Murthy, PS Rao and others were present.
Later, the delegates made a field visit to the SEZ.
