2 Arrested, 160-kg Ganja Recovered

VISAKHAPATNAM: Around 160 kg of ganja has been recovered by the rural police in two incidents in Visakhapatnam agency. The police have arrested two smugglers in both the cases and another three involved in the case are absconding.

According to sources, in the first incident at Bennavolu village of Chodavaram mandal, a four-member gang was transporting the weed of about 100 kg in two cars. Acting on credible information, police intercepted the cars at a checkpost. Noticing the police, the gang tried to escape from the spot. However, the police arrested one person and seized 100 kg of ganja. The remaining three members are still at large. In the second incident on the outskirts of Devarapalli, police intercepted a car during a regular check up and recovered 60 kg of ganja and arrested one person.
