VISAKHAPATNAM: In a horrific incident, a woman caused burn injuries to her two young grandchildren using a hot metal rod, for pestering her to take them to their mother at Arilova Sunday. P Ramanamma, burnt the private parts of her three-year-old grandson Sai.
Arilova CI Ch Dhanunjaya Naidu said that due to disputes between the couple, their children P Sai (3) and P Kavya (5) split their time between their father’s residence at Arilova and mother’s residence at Marikavalasa. The father of the duo is a daily labourer.
On Sunday, the children were repeatedly asking Ramanamma to take them to their mother. Ramanamma, in anger, burnt both the children with using a hot metal, and dropped them at Marikavalasa. The mother’s family members, upon noticing the burns, approached the PM Palem police, who forwarded them to the Arilova Police. A case has been registered.
