Motor Vehicle Inspector in Andhra ACB net

VISAKHAPATNAM: Sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided the properties and houses of Motor Vehicle Inspector of the Integrated Check-Post, Ichapuram (Srikakulam district), M Peda Ranga Rao, on Monday, for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. The raids were conducted at Visakhapatnam, Tanuku and Ichapuram simultaneously.

According to sources, after credible information, teams from the Central Investigation Unit (CIU) of ACB conducted raids at the residence and office of Ranga Rao in Visakhapatnam. The ACB officials said that the total documents and valuables seized was worth about `2 crore. However, the market value of the seized properties  ranges from `10 to 15 crore.

Sources said that the seized documents include a house in Akkayyapalem, two flats in Yendada, one house site at Velpur area in West Godavari district and house sites at Nidadavole and Rajahmundry. Around 5.64 acres of agricultural land at Nidadavole in West Godavari district, several houses and properties were in the name of the kith and kin of the accused. Cash of `10,000, 4 kg of silver and around 25 tola gold were seized. Two lockers in ING Vysya Bank and Karnataka Bank will be inspected on Tuesday.
