VISAKHAPATNAM : Minister for Rural Development and Housing K Mrunalini has announced that around 1,24,349 borewells will be dug across the state under the NTR Jalasiri-2 scheme by June-end this year, to ensure adequate supply of water during the Kharif season.
While addressing the state-level meeting of District Water Management Authority’s project directors in city on Tuesday, Murnalini said that the state government would ensure continuous water supply in six lakh acres of irrigation land in the coming kharif.
During the review meet, rural development commissioner Ramanjaneyulu said: “This financial year, the government has set a target of constructing six lakh farm ponds, two lakh vermicompost yards and 5,000 km CC roads across the state.”
Later, the minister reviewed the construction of CC roads and appreciated the officials who has completed the works on a stretch of 3,800km.
