SRIKAKULAM: As many as 10 high school students had a miraculous escape as the boat they were on board capsized after hitting a pillar of the underconstruction bridge on the Nagavali river at Rangarayapuram of Santakaviti mandal on Saturday.
The students cross the river daily to reach their school at Uppannarayanapeta on the other bank of Nagavali.
According to the sources, the river swelled up owing to the recent rain and the flow became turbulent.
The students boarded the boat which lost its balance owing to the turbulent water just near the shoreline and capsized after hitting the pillar of the undercostruction bridge. But as the water was not too deep ,the students managed to reach the shore.
