20 mins of free WiFi for devotees in Ratnagiri

RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: The Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy temple management will soon provide WiFi facility to pilgrims thronging the shrine in Ratnagiri. Several pilgrims, VIPs and temple staff face problems due to lack of proper signals. The pilgrims will avail free WiFi  for 20 minutes, post which a minimum charge will apply.

According to temple executive officer K Nageswara Rao, a MOU was penned by the temple management and Bangalore-based Balgo Infra Service Provider Company with a validity of three years. Endowments commissioner gave consent to the proposal.

As part of it, the company will provide five mobile company antennas in the first phase while two in the second phase. The service provider company will  pay a monthly rent of `5,000 to the temple management.

Airtel, Idea,Vodafone, Docomo and Reliance company antennas will be erected on Ratnagiri hills within 15 days. Balgo Infrastructure company will also provide antennas of two other companies.

Meanwhile, the temple management has put a ban on carrying mobile phones inside the temple and has arranged mobile counters at the East and West rajagopurams. Usage of mobile phones in the main temple will also be banned.
